I don't know the details, but I conclude that most if not all of the 54 is to service mainly the third world growth, and for any of the 54 located in the USA, it is to service non-english speaking groups. The English speaking congregations, particularly in the "west" are in decline. The congregations are shrinking in numbers of people attending and the groups are aging significantly.
so the wife and i were uninvited to another jw get together which we didn't want to go to anyways.
finally we find out that something on my facebook account is getting some people's in my old halls undies in a bunch.
so i was thinking of meeting with them to at least clear my wife's name and give them some much needed hell.
Most people wouldn't "disinvite" another person. Since you were disinvited, the person who did so must be under some kind of scrutiny or pressure for dealing with you in the first place. He (or she) is probably just protecting themselves from problems from others. JW's tend to be self righteous you know! I always said that generally, don't play by their rules and give them power. If you want out, just walk away. No letters or discussion of any kind. Just ride off into the sunset. If you see a JW that you know, be civil and move on. If the Elders call, text or want to meet, either dont respond or say that you will have to consider it and get back to them. Then don't. If they push you to meet, that's a separate discussion.

This happened in our congregation. A mentally infirm sister became very distressed, and said that was considering suicide. The COBE at the time was a bethelite. He tried to disfellowship her. This still bothers me.

The Secretary is supposed to receive a copy of the silp of paper made to record the contributions collected. The Secretary approached me and asked if I collected the money and to give him his copy of the slip. I told him that I had checked and there was no money contributed at the end of this meeting, therefore nothing to give him (I found out later that the slip is to be filled out anyway with zeros being indicated). When the Secretary heard this he said, "those cheapskates". I got the impression that he wasn't joking.

As I seem to remember, In April 2010 I bought one of the first iPads. I saw the virtue of using it immediately. It was WiFi. At around the same time watchtower.org and JW-media.org were made available to the public although a little bit later on as I recall. I would take hard copy publications or parts of them to work, scan them, get them into the Books app via email and use them at the meetings. The Congregation which we attended had many people attending which were poor. One of the Elders was a Bethelite. After I made it a habit (about a month or two) to attend the meetings with the iPad and use it (or at least look at it) rather than a publication, the Bethelite gave a Local Needs talk. He lambasted the use of "modern appliances" at the meeting rather than a book. He clearly stated that this was a "showy display" of one's wealth and background (I was one of the only ones there that was University educated),and it was "unloving" to conspicuously use these devices in the KH in front of the brothers or to even own them. I was the only person that owned one, and the entire talk was directed at me. My wife was fit to be tied. I felt sorry for the man really.
About 2-3 weeks later the Bethelite was sitting up in the front of the KH with an iPad! They gave him one at Bethel. He used it for various purposes. One of them was to time talks and then turn around the iPad and hold it so the person on the platform could see it and know they are out of time. He made a comment at a meeting shortly thereafter that we need to "keep up with technology so we can further the preaching work". This is in direct conflict with what he had said from the platform 3-4 weeks before. I saw him after the meeting and asked him if it was now okay to use an iPad at the meetings and he told me it was. Like that was some kind of a green light.
Right then I decided that I need to get out of there and fast.
